i'm seriously considering giving that place another go for about the fifth time. never been able to mission much because no one seemed willing to do so although i think it was because my character got associated with the wrong crowd accidentally. i'll create then tell you guys who i am and hopefully have a good time

char is sticking around for a while. this time. i've had several in the past and i think i've finally learned from my mistakes.
Alex Foyo on there. Out of locals exploring some alien ruins, aka laughing at the hosts failure to properly delete unused parts of the game. Anyway, I feel for new players. the game isn't what it used to be back when I started in 2007. But, if you want to give it a try feel to hunt me down. I run things in my BC whenever I get the chance and would gladly take a new player on a mission or whatever.
instead of playing this game that has gone steadily downhill and doesn't seem to look like it is going back up, come pley star conquest instead. And if you do, join fringe, fringe needs a ton of players and there are several people who can help you.

The first thing I want to say to this, is that a game is only as good as the player's it's got, for the most part.
Secondly, I do have to agree with the fact that Miriani ain't what it use to be. But I don't think that's the fault of the shots, and I think it's unfair to blame them for the mostly moronic playerbase it now has. Sorry guys.

If you want a game to be great, you have to be interested in it, and take an active role in making it better. I don't like SC because of how some of the piloting systems work, and because I generally just don't like the way the game feels to me, but that's my problem, not really anything its admins have done.
That's my two cents worth.
Cala, a good example of something that sorta frustrated me recently. Yes, I know this has been sorta a recurring occurence, but here goes. recently the AIE wanted to start a war with hale, why? I have no earthly idea. The votes for hostility passed and the fun was going to begin, all of a sudden the AIE wants to return the vote back to a nonaggression even though a bunch of them clearly said no and wanted war in the first place. Why can't the playerbase just fight already, and bring some excitement back. I switched to hale to hopefully give a bit more evenness to the war if it ever happened but honestly I doubt it will lol.
so I've decided to return, after forever. lol

so, I'm having issues with the vipmud soundpack, I can't figure out if I need to grab from the first beta and install to the last, or not.
I'm just sticking with the vip 2.7 pack less issues since cray's 3.8 is being a doof and constently giving me error beeps along with the sound. oh wait that's 3.7.
as to orgs i'm not gona advertize here. lol. i have some common sense. but.
as to the war between AIE and hale it was michael, landen and matt running mouthes the rest of AIE was silent. again my view that's why it died so fast. so.
as to alex alien runes? nice. though i laugh that some planets ools have descriptions, others don't. found one with a dorment volcano in it which i has pics to prove it.

i can get along with everyone and don't mind having new pilots or pilots who aren't good with english on my mods. need the experience some time soon i say they do.

Lol.. Another war proposal? I remember when it was AIE wanting to start stuff with the Commonwealth and they were talking about joining together with the Hale. Seems to me like just a bunch of people running their mouth and nothing really even happening. But I no longer play so.. just my personal asumtion.

I agree with heartbreaker. Most people refuse to give Star Conquest a chance because either they don't want to take the time to learn the mechanics of a game more complicated than Miriani or because god forbid they ever write a profile and truly roleplay a character. Miriani has turned into a pathetic game where people constantly shake their fists at each other but will never actually attack each other because of the fear of losing a ship. In Star Conquest at least the majority of the player base is aware of the fact that you make money to buy ships, you buy ships to use them and in the end maybe you'll lose them but that's the fun of the game taking risks and always having something to do. Miriani used to be a better game before when hosts didn't hold the player's hands and basically allowed players to fend for themselves now enough bitching and whining will always get things changed there. I encourage anyone who truly enjoys roleplaying to give Star Conquest a try, as heartbreaker said joining Fringe at this point is a great choice because players are being given a point bonus for joining a smaller alliance like Fringe is. There are several of us in Fringe who are always willing to help new players and willing to take the new people along on beacons, salvage ops or whatever they might need to make points. Ultimately if a person ends up liking the game and showing they wish to play actively I'm even willing to help people work on they're profiles so long as it is actually help and not me writing the profile for them. Before you judge a game take the time to play it and truly learn about the game take a little bit of time to know the people who play the game and ask around if your curious about anything on that game. I judge Miriani the way I do because I played long enough to be disgusted by all the changes made over the last two years. Good luck.
not all miriani people are like that. yes there are times where it gets to be same shit different day, but not all the time. i tried star conquest, but i prefer miriani better. just the way i am.

hmm i've resently started role playing more then doing stuff i think i've only made bout 20 points this past week. i've been too much into rp with someone on there. it's a rather nice change.

i've played both, i wasn't really on star conquest for that long (actually because i was dreading writing the profile thingy you have to write!). i majorly fail when it comes to role play (well.. not fail as such, ) i can keep icc, but i can't write a full blown history of my char.
as for miriani, both me and my sister play... it is okay, i suppose, if you have the focus for it- most times though i just sit around a planet or spacestation
oh yeah, if anyone has any experience in combat i need help to learn to gun (majorly!)
